Literacy dayThis Friday, October 26, at 8:30 am we will be celebrating Literacy Day at Patton Elementary! We encourage all students, teachers and staff are encouraged to participate in the festivities by dressing up as a character from a grade appropriate book. This will be a fun opportunity to help promote positive attitudes and behaviors that support children’s literacy development, and the importance literacy plays in everyone’s lives. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes!

Remember, this is not a day to dress up as a favorite TV or movie character or toy. Literacy Day is all about celebrating literacy so book characters only please. Please encourage your child to choose a book character that is from a recently read book.

We will have parent viewing areas during the event to keep congestion down in the hallways. If you would like to watch the parade, please find the large posted signs that will indicate a parent viewing area. We will also have a photo booth set up in the library to take a quick picture with your child before school or after the parade.

Thank you for your support in making Literacy Day a fun and memorable event.
