Literacy dayNext Friday, October 27, Patton is celebrating Literacy Day! The Literacy Day parade will begin at 8:30 am. All students, teachers and staff are encouraged to participate in the festivities by dressing up as a character from a grade appropriate book. This is a fun opportunity to help promote positive attitudes and behaviors that support children’s literacy development, and the importance that literacy plays in everyone’s lives.

Remember, this is not a day to dress up as a favorite TV or movie character or toy. Literacy Day is all about celebrating literacy so please encourage your child to choose a book character. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes!

Parent viewing areas will be set up for the parade to prevent congestion in the hallways. If you would like to view the parade, please find the large glittery stars that will indicate a parent viewing area. A photo booth will also be set up in the library so you can take a quick picture with your child before school or after the parade.

Thank you for your support in making Literacy Day a fun and memorable event.
