Dear Patton Parents,

Studies after study show schools with strong Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA’s) have higher student achievement, improved teacher moral as well as higher ratings of teachers by parents. Students exhibit more positive attitude and behavior, have more self-confidence and feel school is more important. Lastly those schools that have more support from families get more respect in the community.

Help keep Patton Strong by Getting Involved in your Child’s Education As with all PTA’s the Patton PTA has one main objective; to enhance the educational experience for all the children of Patton Elementary.

We do this in many ways…

This year we have set one goal. We would like to improve the communication throughout Patton. We hope to decrease the amount of paper that goes home while dramatically increasing communication thru electronic means. By the end of the school year we hope to accomplish this goal and expect to not burden the teachers with more work in the process. We hope as a positive side effect of increasing communication we will be able to build a large and strong pool of parent volunteers who will keep the workloads small but the benefits astronomical!

Our children spend 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 9 months of the year for 6 years at Patton. Everyone should pitch in and do their part to ensure the success of our kids. Parents can show support by volunteering their time, supporting our teachers and participating in school events and fundraisers. If we all give a little, the possibilities for our children’s futures are endless.
